Assemblies & Advisories

General Assemblies

Brandon Hall holds at least two formal convocations, one in the fall and one in the spring, to recognize students for their achievement. The school has other assemblies throughout the year in which students are recognized or are encouraged to use the knowledge and skills learned in certain subjects. Informative speakers and programs also enhance the learning process.

Honors Assemblies

At the conclusion of the school year, each division holds an honors assembly for students and their families. All students are required to attend in uniform. At this time, students receive academic, fine arts, and athletic awards. All families are asked to attend and to honor the recipients.

Advisory

Each student is assigned to a small faculty-led advisory group that meets on a daily basis from 7:45 a.m. - 7:55 a.m. The advisory groups promote camaraderie and open communication among students and faculty members.

Topics for the group include ideas and suggestions for school improvement, current events, development of life skills, character education, and the pursuit of global citizenship. The small group discussion format fosters a safe environment to learn and ask questions. The common discussion between many groups encourages the conversation to continue throughout our community.
